The composite plate reactor has a thickness of 60+4 (Q345R+S30408); the flanges and forgings on the inner vessel are mainly made of stainless steel, with welding of different steel types being used, and there are also 316 coil connections inside. The entire device requires overall heat treatment. Currently, the heat treatment temperature for carbon steel weldments is 600–640°C for 3.5 hours. Now, the question is as to what temperature should be chosen for this overall heat treatment: should it be determined based on the temperature of the base material, or should the sensitization issue associated with stainless steel be taken into account in order to adjust the temperature and treatment time? During the heat treatment of composite panels and stainless steel, the most important thing is to control the heating temperature and time. If the heating temperature is reduced too much, it not only affects the residual strength and resistance of the composite plate but also reduces the hardness of the stainless steel. On the other hand, excessively high heating temperatures reduce the corrosion resistance of the composite panel, damage its surface morphology, render its structure incomplete, and affect its performance. Furthermore, the heating time must also be appropriate; an excessive heating time can damage the composite panel and make the stainless steel susceptible to moisture-induced corrosion. Therefore, properly controlling the heating temperature and time are skills that must be mastered in the heat treatment of composite panels and stainless steel.
