However, the design documents must be reviewed and approved by engineers with the appropriate qualifications to ensure that the design complies with ASME standards. Units that manufacture pressure vessels need to have an ASME-certified “U” stamp authorization. Overall, the design firm needs to ensure that its designers possess the relevant professional knowledge and experience. .
ASME does not have separate design agencies; all designs are carried out by certified entities themselves, and the qualifications required for personnel are not as stringent as in China.
