According to the following two clauses of GB/T150.4-2024, should welded test pieces be made for spliced end caps?
Is there a problem? That’s a very proper regulation.
There were no regulations before, so I’m not sure if this understanding is correct:P
Whether welding test pieces are required for the head shall be determined in accordance with Chapter 9 of 150.4 and the provisions of GB/T25198.
For any process that alters the material properties through heat treatment, product test plates must be produced. Understand it that way. The specifications are also established around this point, unless the heat treatment of that material is already highly advanced or the container grade is insufficient.

Firstly, 6.4.7 is essentially a special case of 6.1.6; secondly, the standards are far too lenient. Welding test plates should be those that simulate actual welding conditions. What’s the point of declaring a test plate to be qualified if it does not take on the correct shape after welding? It is necessary to check whether the weld joint is satisfactory only after the simulated head has taken its proper shape.
The standards are appropriate; there is process qualification support, and moreover, the weld specimens have passed the inspection. OP, you mentioned whether to make welding test pieces.
GB150 is getting worse and worse; the standards-setting committee for cooking pots no longer possesses the spirit of a master craftsman!
Each chapter operates independently; the statements and requirements vary from one section to another, with no unified drafting! So far, there are no standard definitions or FAQs available!
