I’d like to ask some questions to the seniors

I’m a beginner who is just starting to learn about *heating equipment design. There are some aspects of the design process that I don’t quite understand, so I would like to ask the more experienced members of this forum for some guidance. My biggest problem right now is related to the guide plates in pipe heaters: we know the required size for these plates, as it should be twice the area of the inlet and outlet openings. However, once we calculate that area, we’re unable to determine the height of the remaining guide plates. The calculation parameters for the optimal curve shape aren’t available either. So how should I go about designing these guide plates?
Impact plates, baffle plates, inner guide cylinders, outer guide cylinders – I’m not sure what exactly baffle plates refer to
