Huizhou BYD Air Compressor Hot Water Project I. Status of the water supply system: Huizhou BYD originally used solar energy and air-source heat pumps to generate hot water, supplying domestic water for 15,000 people in 16 staff dormitory buildings.
Through on-site inspections, the engineers from Huaneng Technology identified the following issues: (1) Due to the long duration of use of solar energy, coupled with the impact of weather conditions, the water production volume has been decreasing year by year; (2) The water production capacity from solar energy decreases, which increases the operating time of air-source systems; as a result, electricity consumption rises year by year ; (3) There are 5 450kw Sullair oil-injected screw compressors in the air compression room, which operate at full load throughout the day; the heat generated by the oil and gas is removed through the cooling system, resulting in significant waste. Analysis shows that recovering the waste heat from air compressors to replace the existing heating method will generate significant economic benefits.
II. The waste heat recovery scheme for air compressors involves using a composite sleeve-type air compressor waste heat recovery system to generate hot water for use in 20 staff dormitory buildings, thereby replacing the existing heating systems.
III. Economic benefits after the renovation: By carrying out energy-saving renovations on the air compressors, not only is the problem of high temperatures associated with these compressors resolved, but it is also expected that electricity costs can be saved by over 2 million yuan per year. This results in significant savings in operating costs and considerable economic benefits.
