I’m a newcomer in a design firm, not from the chemical engineering field. For a recent project, my boss is pushing me to learn more about this topic. In our case, it involves heat exchange between the humid exhaust gas generated after gypsum boards are dried and air; the common types of heat exchangers used are plate-type and tubular-type. Could anyone with experience give me some guidance? For my preliminary calculations, I need to know the basic formulas related to heat exchanger design or recommend some books on the subject
