And what does it mean by \"no restriction within the applicable effective range for the thickness of the base metal of the welded joint\" (i.e., thickness of the thicker side of the base metal)? In item 4 of Table 8 of standard 47014-2023: – For materials with category codes Fe-8, Ti, Zr, Ni, Cu, Al, when the thickness of the base metal of the test piece is ≥6 mm, these materials can be used for weldments of any thickness. - For other materials that do not fall into the categories of Fe-8, Ti, Zr, Ni, Cu, or Al, when the thickness of the base material of the test piece is ≥38 mm, it can also be applied to weldments with bases of any thickness. For example: 1. Welding of the same type of steel: If Fe-8 steel is used and the original thickness of the base material is 6 mm or more, it can be used for welding Fe-8 steel of any thickness. 2.
