Mixing liquids and perlite as filter aids can be done other than using a mixing tank

Are there any other ways to mix liquids with perlite as a filter aid besides using a mixing tank? Since our liquid is a weak acid, mixing tanks are usually made of metal; using acid-resistant stainless steel would be costly. Could a pipe mixer be used for this type of mixing? Or use a pump to circulate and stir?
Perlite filter aid is weakly alkaline and can be used with aeration. The pumping action during circulation can break up the perlite filter aid; the problem with pipe mixers lies in the way they are used to add the material.
The tank can be an enamel-lined tank or a rubber-lined tank……
