Let’s give praise and encouragement to the achievements made in China’s chemical engineering technology and equipment; your participation in discussions is the greatest encouragement. **********************【Ten Years of Great Development in Chemical Engineering Equipment】Regular updates and summaries are available – feel free to join the discussions: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html ***************** On August 14th, the DPPB module of the Huizhou 25-8 project, constructed by CNOOC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (short for CNOOC Offshore), was shipped from Qingdao, Shandong Province. This marks the completion of the land-based construction of this module as part of the comprehensive adjustment project for the Huizhou 25-8 oil field, paving the way for the next stage of installation at sea. Jacket platforms are currently the most widely used offshore oil and gas production facilities globally, and they consist of a jacket and an upper structure. The upper module of the Huizhou 25-8DPPB platform is 81 meters long, 44.5 meters wide, and 81.2 meters high, with a projected area of 3,600 square meters – equivalent to the size of 8.5 standard basketball courts – and a total weight of approximately 14,370 tons. Based on the regional overall plan, upon completion it will become the largest water injection development platform in the eastern South China Sea oil fields. Equipped with 107 sets of equipment such as gas turbine generators, water injection pumps, and high-efficiency coalescing production water separators, it will be capable of performing various functions including drilling and workover operations, intelligent oil extraction, comprehensive treatment of oil, gas, and water, as well as the recovery and utilization of associated gases. This project further accelerates the demonstration, application, and dissemination of advanced green and low-carbon technologies. It involved the independent design and development of CNOOC’s first waste heat power generation unit for production water; this unit utilizes new technologies such as flare gas utilization and lithium bromide air conditioning to enable efficient recovery and utilization of waste gases and heat, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 11,800 tons per year. In promoting material upgrades, the large-scale use of TMCP (Thermomechanical Control Process) high-strength steel in manufacturing processes has enabled a 10% reduction in emissions during the metallurgical stage and about a 5% reduction in emissions during the processing stage, thus opening up new paths for the green and low-carbon transformation of China’s offshore engineering equipment manufacturing industry. During the construction process, the project team adhered to the principle of \"using land to protect the sea and integrating land and sea efforts,\" with the goal of maximizing completion on land. Based on the site’s maximum construction capacity, the team divided the deck panels into smaller sections, assembling the entire structure into just 9 large sections – this reduced the workload related to high-altitude assembly by one-third. It took 78 days to complete the assembly of all 9 deck panels; the heaviest panel weighed 810 tons, setting a new record for the heaviest single deck panel lifted at the Qingdao site. To accelerate the deployment of the central platform, the project team continuously optimized the construction procedures and design plans. By adopting techniques such as the double-layer panel prefabrication and assembly process, the efficiency of deck panel prefabrication and assembly was greatly improved. The main structure of the module was completed within 80 days, while the installation of over 6,000 pipelines, the laying of 280,000 meters of cables, and the commissioning of 52 subsystems were all finished in just 9.5 months. At the same time, an innovative construction method was adopted: assembly was carried out at the end of the slide, while the SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Transport) units were transported as a whole to the front of the slide dock. The \"six-machine lifting\" technique was used to lift the 1,298-ton drilling support module as a single unit, which helped to advance the project schedule efficiently and ensured the high-quality and safe delivery of the project. It is reported that the upper module of the Huizhou 25-8B platform will be transported to the waters of the Pearl River Delta basin at the end of August for float-mounted installation. Once put into operation, the platform will further increase the recovery rate of the Huizhou 25-8 oil field, extend its operational life, and serve as a logistics and power grid transmission center for the Huixi oil field complex. It will connect the surrounding developed oil fields to form an industrial cluster, thereby promoting the coordinated development of the offshore energy industry chain.
