The R thread is a 55° sealing thread; the external thread is only in conical form, while the internal thread comes in two types: cylindrical (RP) and conical (RC). R1 is the external thread that mates with RP, and R2 is the external thread that mates with RC. Since all R threads can achieve sealing through their threads, what is the difference between using the R1/RP combination and the R2/RC combination in design? Is the sealing effect the same? Why is it divided this way? It’s not clear from GB/T7306; I hope fellow forum members can help provide an answer. Thank you!
Push it yourself – for non-sealed G threads, only one type is used. Then why are there two types of fits for sealed R threads?

Clause 9.1 of GB/T 7306.1-2000 states that Rp—represents the internal cylindrical thread; R1—represents a tapered external thread that mates with a cylindrical internal thread. Paragraph 9.1 of GB/T 7306.2-2000 states that Rc—represents circular internal threads ; R2—refers to the external tapered thread that mates with the internal tapered thread.
The R1 and R2 parameters are actually not different; they both represent the assembly relationship.
