A laser marking machine is a marking device that uses different lasers to direct laser beams at the surfaces of various materials; by utilizing light energy, it induces physical or chemical changes in the surface material, thereby creating permanent markings such as patterns, logos, and text. Like other industrial equipment, laser marking machines can occasionally experience problems, and failure to resolve these issues promptly may affect production progress. The 5 most common faults in laser marking machines and their solutions are as follows: Fault 1: Decreased laser intensity, resulting in unclear markings. Causes and solutions: ① Check whether there are any changes in the laser resonator ; Fine-tune the resonant cavity lens to optimize the output spot ; ②Due to the displacement of the acousto-optic crystal or the low output energy of the acousto-optic power supply, adjust the position of the acousto-optic crystal or increase the operating current of the acousto-optic power supply ; ③The laser entering the galvanometer deviates from the center, so the laser needs to be adjusted ; ④If the light intensity remains insufficient even when the current is set to around 20A, it indicates that the krypton lamp is worn out and needs to be replaced with a new one. Fault 2: An alarm with one long tone and three short tones occurs while the device is connected. Causes and solutions: ① The software is not functioning, or the motherboard is loose; turn on the computer and reinsert it ; ②When the Q drive alarm light comes on, check whether the 37-pin and 15-pin connections are loose, and whether the Q switch is receiving proper water flow ; ③When the laser power supply alarm light comes on, check whether the chiller is turned on and whether the lamp tube is damaged; if it is damaged, the lamp tube needs to be replaced. Fault 3: The laser marking machine does not emit light during operation. Causes and solutions: ① The screws in the optical path of the machine are loose; these screws need to be tightened ; ②Check whether there is too much dust inside the gun to prevent damage to the gun’s internal lens; if so, the internal lens must be replaced ; ③If the laser power supply is not turned on while the chiller is running for an extended period of time, freezing will occur and no light will be emitted; it is necessary to shut down the entire power system before restarting it ; ④If the lamp tube ages or the laser power decreases, the lamp tube must be replaced. Fault 4: The laser marking machine fails to achieve the desired marking depth. Causes and solutions: ① The laser output power is not sufficient; it is necessary to replace it with a laser of higher power ; ②The turn-off power of the acousto-optic switch does not meet the requirements; it needs to be replaced ; ③The light path adjustment is inaccurate; adjust the light path again ; ④The workpiece surface is not on the focal plane; adjust it to the appropriate position. Fault 5: The patterns produced by the laser marking machine are not clear in certain areas. Causes and solutions: ① The marking surface is not parallel to the field lens; adjust the marking surface so that it is parallel to the field lens ; ②There are stains on the field lens surface; clean the field lens surface ; ③If the workpiece has stains or uneven surfaces, clean it or avoid those uneven areas when marking it.
