Belt conveyors play a vital role in today’s rapidly developing era, and they are used in a wide range of industries including food and light industry, logistics and transportation, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, tobacco, and more. As an essential component of belt conveyors, conveyor belts need to be replaced frequently. While it is easier to replace belts in some equipment, it can be more complicated in others where the equipment is designed as a single unit that cannot be disassembled. Therefore, when purchasing conveyor belts, it is necessary to decide whether to choose open-type belts or looped belts based on the actual conditions of the equipment. Methods/Steps for Replacing the Belt in a Belt Conveyor: 1. Turn off all power supplies to the belt conveyor, remove the protective cover, loosen the mounting bolts of the motor, and then move the motor so that the belt becomes loose, thereby making it easier to remove the damaged belt. 2. If the conveyor belt of the removed belt conveyor shows signs of abnormal wear, it indicates a problem with the transmission mechanism; in such cases, select a suitable conveyor belt for replacement. 3. Check the protective devices of the belt conveyor, such as those to prevent deviation and provide drive protection; any issues such as deviation or wear should be addressed and repaired immediately. 4. Install the conveyor on the pulley, then adjust the center distance of the drive mechanism first, and use a tension meter to bring the tension of the conveyor to an appropriate level ； Then tighten all the bolts of the motor; if they are tightened too much, it may result in poor performance of the belt conveyor. 5. After the replacement is complete, operate the belt conveyor to check its condition after the replacement. If there is noise or vibration, shut it down immediately and inspect the motor and bearings.
