This setup enables centralized monitoring and coordinated management of the platform complex, facilitating a shift in the management of offshore oil and gas fields from experience-based approaches to data-driven and intelligent decision-making, thereby improving management efficiency and decision quality. The Zhaodong Oil Field in Dagang is located in the shallow-to-very-shallow sea area within 5 meters of the water depth line east of Zhaojiabao Village in Huanghua City, Hebei Province. It was developed in cooperation with a foreign company in 1993, and it became China National Petroleum Corporation’s first modern offshore oil field with an annual production capacity of over one million tons. It set a record of producing over one million tons per year for 8 consecutive years, and is regarded as a benchmark for China National Petroleum Corporation’s foreign cooperation efforts. In April 2023, the foreign cooperation project for the Zhao Dong oil field came to an end, and it was fully brought under the direct management of the Dagang oil field. Since 2001, the Zhao Dong oil field in Dagang has successively built 8 offshore physical platforms in 3 phases, forming a modern integrated platform complex that combines drilling and workover, oil production and water injection, production processing, oil and gas transportation, self-generated power and shore power supply, as well as living facilities.
