The image below shows the atmospheric and vacuum distillation units in the petrochemical industry, along with the heat exchanger tube banks for saline water injection and desalination water injection. Model: FB600-85-16-4, Material: 10# steel. This tube bundle has been in operation for nearly two years. Operating conditions: Shell side: wastewater, temperature 120°C, pressure 0.60 MPa. Piping: Medium, condensate water; temperature 30°C, pressure 1.00 MPa. During maintenance, when the heat exchanger was opened, extensive metal corrosion was found in both the shell side and the tube side.
It is recommended to use clean materials in the shell side!
