Considering the harsh conditions in nuclear fuel production and reactor operation, the following targeted protective measures are added: the use of new types of corrosion- and wear-resistant cladding materials; the adoption of FeCrAl iron-based alloys and SiC/SiC ceramic matrix composites to replace traditional zirconium alloys, along with accident-tolerant coatings, to significantly enhance the wear resistance of the cladding under high temperature, high pressure, and intense radiation conditions. Optimized design of the flow field under operating conditions: By adjusting the structure of the reactor coolant flow channels, the flow field distribution is optimized, which reduces erosion caused by excessively high local flow velocities and minimizes the continuous wear on the surfaces of the fuel assemblies. Upgrade of equipment materials in the production process: In production steps prone to abrasion, such as nuclear fuel crushing and acid leaching, specialized equipment materials that are resistant to wear and corrosion are used, thereby preventing equipment failure caused by the combination of medium-induced wear and mechanical stress and ensuring continuous operation of production. Full-process erosion condition monitoring: During reactor operation and fuel production, online erosion monitoring sensors are installed to track the wear status of components in real time, providing early warnings about potential erosion risks and preventing safety hazards caused by sudden failures.
