Methanol price trends across China on November 12 Author/Source: Date: 2019-11-12 Clicks: 122 The methanol market in the Northeast region is operating at a stable level, with some manufacturers selling their product at around 2000–2050 yuan per ton； Traders have lowered their quotes for goods from Inner Mongolia in the Liaoning area to 2,030–2,050 yuan per ton. The methanol market in Henan is on a downward trend. Local companies are selling at 1,970 yuan per ton; some of these companies have lower production levels, resulting in selling prices that are slightly higher, around 2,020 yuan per ton. In the Luoyang area, prices range from 1,900 to 1,930 yuan per ton, with weak demand in the market. The methanol market in Shanxi region remains weak. Currently, in Linfen, the reference price is around 1,880–1,890 yuan per ton ； In Jincheng, the reference price for some contracts is around 1,850–1,860 yuan per ton; attention is being paid to the situation regarding new orders. Some smaller production facilities in the area plan to start producing products in the near future ； Changzhi Auction: Starting bid of 1,810 yuan per ton; further updates to follow ； Tongmei: 1,820 yuan per ton ； Some enterprises in Lüliang are being auctioned, while the rest mainly adhere to their contracts. The methanol market in southern Shandong is operating in a weak condition; currently, some companies are selling their products at around 2,040 yuan per ton, a decrease of 10 yuan per ton ； Traders have reduced their quotes to 2020 yuan/ton for the plate mills and formaldehyde plants downstream in Linyi, and are not keen to make purchases. The methanol market in Anhui region continues to decline; the prevailing selling price in the local market is around 1,960–2,020 yuan per ton. Some companies offer flexible pricing, resulting in slight variations in actual transaction prices. In the methanol market of Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia, prices have declined for some manufacturers; currently, the price in northern Shaanxi is 1,850 yuan per ton, while new prices for some others have not yet been determined ； In Inner Mongolia, the price is 1,750–1,850 yuan per ton; on the northern route it’s 1,750–1,820 yuan per ton, with some prices dropping by 100 yuan per ton. The new prices on the southern route are yet to be determined. Goods at lower prices are selling well. The methanol market in the Two Lakes region is operating in a weak condition. In Hubei, the selling price is 2,000–2,100 yuan per ton; sales are carried out by local companies at the lower end of this range, while higher-end transactions are handled by traders in Wuhan. In Changsha, Hunan, the selling price is around 2,150–2,250 yuan per ton, with prices mainly set by traders from Changsha.
