Six experts from five organizations, including the Coal Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Tsinghua University, evaluated the plans for retrofitting the indirect cooling systems in fixed-bed gasification units proposed by Jinfeng, Tianyuan, and Jinxiang Companies. Dong Hong, head of the Development Planning Department of the Coal Chemicals Division, and Gao Zhigang, head of the Production and Environmental Protection Department, attended the meeting. Fan Jian, Sun Yongsheng, and Xu Weidong, general managers of Jinfeng, Tianyuan, and Jinxiang Companies, as well as the chief engineers of each company, the heads of various factories, and related personnel also participated in the meeting. This demonstration session was chaired by Gao Zhigang. Gao Zhigang gave a brief introduction to the background and objectives of this seminar, pointing out that as environmental protection policies become increasingly stringent, there is pressure to upgrade the environmental standards in the synthetic ammonia industry. At the same time, in order to win the battle to protect the blue sky, it was required that by 2020, all intermittent gasification furnaces in Jincheng City should switch from direct cooling to indirect cooling. Since the indirect cooling renovation project for fixed-bed gasification is a new type of environmental protection project that involves large investment, tight deadlines, heavy tasks, and numerous challenges, this expert review meeting has been organized to further accelerate the implementation of this project, ensuring its successful commissioning and operation. The project plan was reviewed under the supervision of Qu Sijian, the head of the expert group. The Hefei Institute of Science and Technology designed a scheme for indirect cooling technology ； Jinfeng, Tianyuan, and Jinxiang companies presented special reports on the cooling solutions for each other’s companies ； The experts present and the leaders of the coal chemical division listened carefully to the presentations, reviewed the relevant materials in detail, and had thorough discussions and exchanges with Jinfeng, Tianyuan, and Jinxiang companies. Fan Jian, General Manager of Jinfeng Company, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the regional company for the comprehensive analysis and guidance provided by the expert group. He pointed out that the indirect cooling renovation project for fixed-bed gasification is an effort by the regional company to meet the requirements of **and local** environmental protection policies; it represents a significant step in the renovation of the gas generation circulating water system, and will be of great importance to the development of the regional company. The regional company will carefully review the suggestions and opinions, formulate measures in line with the directions for improvement, and achieve high-quality development for the enterprise. Dong Hong, head of the Coal Chemicals Division of the group company, requested that the regional companies further refine the plans based on the valuable suggestions put forward by the expert group, to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
