August 20th was a special day, as the major problem of high resistance in the desulfurization cooling towers that affected Baipo Zhengyuan’s production was finally solved; the resistance of these cooling towers dropped from 7 kPa to 2.5 kPa. Starting from July 25th, the resistance of the desulfurization cooling tower began to increase gradually, which caught the attention of the operators. They promptly reported the situation to the workshop supervisors, who then organized a meeting with the technical department to discuss the issue. At that meeting, the operators from Shift 3 described the problems they encountered during operation as well as any changes in parameters, and offered their suggestions and opinions. The leaders of the workshop and the biotechnology department analyzed that the cause was uneven flow and blockage in the cooling tower fill material; the solution chosen was to add tower cleaning agents to the circulating water in the cooling tower, adjust the air flow rate, then restore it to its normal level, while simultaneously using a sledgehammer to strike the tower body. Repeat this process to loosen the packing and replace it with a large amount of water. During this period, the company’s management and workshop supervisors kept a close eye on the site, while the operators used walkie-talkies to coordinate the operations of tower flushing, tower cleaning, and adjusting the volume of gas and water, all in an orderly manner. There were problems with the production equipment, and the workshop supervisors were so worried that they didn’t even think about going home. The employees also worked with great dedication, striving not to disrupt the production process; everyone held their breath in order to ensure that production continued smoothly. Finally, their efforts paid off – on August 20th, thanks to the combined efforts of everyone, the resistance in the cooling tower returned to normal, and production could continue as usual. The weight on everyone’s hearts was finally lifted!
