On June 29, 2024, Hubei Jinkong Gas Co., Ltd. held a celebration ceremony for the “Two Excellences and One Pioneer” award as well as for the completion and commissioning of project construction. In July, the company’s projects will enter the formal production phase. All employees should take this award ceremony as a new starting point, and firmly make production and operation the core of the company’s development. Everything should be focused on production, organized around it, and efforts should be directed toward it, so as to ensure that the goal of achieving profitability in the same year as production begins is successfully met, as well as the fulfillment of the company’s annual production and operation targets of “51·16·3·0”. The 550,000-ton ammonia and alcohol production project in the first phase of Hubei JinKong utilizes an optimized and upgraded Sideng furnace gasification process, along with Sideng Company’s core technologies for shift conversion, heat recovery, and low-temperature methanol washing. This setup enables an annual production of 550,000 tons of ammonia, while also generating approximately 100,000 tons of LNG as a by-product. On May 15, 2024, Hubei Jinkong Gas Co., Ltd.’s project for producing 550,000 tons of ammonia alcohol per year successfully completed the entire production process, yielding qualified products. The second phase of construction will result in an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons of urea. Project Overview: Hubei JinKong Gas Company was established through joint investment by Huaxia Chemical Group and Shanxi JinNeng Holding Group. The 550,000-ton ammonia alcohol project involves a comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the original ammonia alcohol raw material production process in Huahua Chemical, with a new 550,000-ton ammonia alcohol production line being installed. The total investment in the project amounts to 2,994,657,200 yuan. It is located in the Dangyang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Hubei Province. The project will be constructed in two phases: Phase 1 involves the upgrading of an ammonia production facility with a capacity of 400,000 tons per year, while Phase 2 involves the upgrading of a methanol production facility with a capacity of 150,000 tons per year. Based on the production targets required by the facility and the quality of the raw coal, 5 Saiding coal crushing and pressurized gasification furnaces with a diameter of φ3842mm and a pressure of 4.0 MPa have been installed for ammonia synthesis, operating in a configuration of 4 units in use and 1 unit as backup during normal production. One coal-crushing pressurized slag gasification furnace is equipped with methanol. In actual production, the load of the Saiding coal-pressure gasification furnaces is adjusted based on the operating conditions of the coal-pressure slag gasification furnace; the maximum operating scenario is one in which the coal-pressure slag gasification furnace is not in use, with all 5 Saiding coal-pressure gasification furnaces running at full capacity to meet the production requirement of 550,000 tons of ammonia alcohol per year ； Similarly, when the coal dust pressurized slag gasification furnace reaches full load, the operating load of the coal dust gasification furnace is adjusted accordingly. Huahua Chemical is located in Baling Industrial Park in Dangyang City. It currently has a production capacity of 450,000 tons of liquid ammonia per year, 150,000 tons of methanol (for a total of 600,000 tons of ammonia and methanol products), 700,000 tons of urea, 300,000 tons of compound fertilizers, 100,000 tons of dimethyl ether, 60,000 tons of sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite, 60,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide, 50,000 tons of melamine, and 800,000 tons of nitrosulfur-based compound fertilizers.
