At 19:53 on September 18, 2020, upon receiving the ignition command, the operators of the 480t/h high-temperature, high-pressure boiler in Unit 4 of the Methanol Phase II project carried out the ignition procedure; instantly, the furnace was filled with orange-colored flames, and the boiler was successfully started for the first time. Since the successful lifting of the first column of Boiler No. 4 on May 28, 2019, the project team has worked diligently and taken great care to ensure the safety, schedule, and quality of the work. By working backwards from the deadline and using visual planning tools, they went through various stages such as boiler installation, boiler commissioning, hydrostatic testing, alkali cleaning, boiler purging, and individual unit testing. The construction workers put in a great deal of effort and hard work. To ensure the successful ignition of the boiler, the project team worked in close collaboration with the general contractor, supervision unit, commissioning unit, and other parties, organizing everything meticulously. By strictly following the commissioning procedures and operating guidelines, detailed trial operation plans and measures were developed, which ensured the smooth progress of the boiler ignition process. At 19:00 on September 19, 2020, with the opening of the first and second stage connection valve for the high-pressure steam of Boiler No. 4, this boiler was officially integrated into the high-pressure steam network to supply steam steadily to the downstream systems. This integration marked the successful commissioning of Boiler No. 4 as part of the thermal power installation, laying a solid foundation for the operation of the second-phase methanol project.
