The PSA upgrade project at Yueneng Chemical’s methanol facility was successfully put into operation / Author/Source: Weiyueneng Chemical / Date: 10-07-2020 / Clicks: 7 On the morning of October 6, good news came again regarding the commissioning of the methanol facility project at Yueneng Chemical; the new hydrogen compressor 741C01C in the PSA upgrade project successfully passed a 72-hour performance test, with all operational parameters exceeding the design values. This marks the official operation of this project, providing a solid foundation for the successful commissioning of all hydrogen-using units as part of this improvement project. It is reported that this technical modification serves as a supplementary project to the filling and completion works. To overcome the shortcomings of the existing hydrogen compressors in the first-phase project, such as low operating load, short cycle time, and high exhaust temperature, a high-speed, symmetrically balanced reciprocating piston-type two-stage compressor was specifically selected. From the outset of the project construction, the Methanol Center took proactive action, planned meticulously, and worked backwards from the deadline; as a result, the project was completed and put into operation in less than four months.
