Installation of Sanning Chemical’s 5XX ethylene glycol equipment Author/Source: Sanning Chemical Date: 10-09-2020 Clicks: 29 On October 7, another key piece of equipment in Sanning Chemical’s ethylene glycol project – the batch reactor R202 – was safely placed into its main frame using a \"princess carry\" method. Thus, the two key units for urea production – the tank reactor and the stripping tower – have both been lifted into place. It is understood that the tank reactor, as the most important equipment in urea production facilities, utilizes the world’s leading 5XX ultra-low energy consumption urea production process. It is manufactured from SAFUREX material developed by the Dutch company Stamicarbon, and features an innovative \"horizontal tower + dual U-shaped tube array\" design. With a total length of 32,000 mm, a diameter of Φ4,054 mm, and a weight of 460 tons, it is regarded as having the \"three highest specifications\" among the projects of its kind. To successfully complete this lifting task, after more than a month of discussing, comparing, optimizing various options and seeking expert advice, a 750-ton crawler crane was ultimately chosen; it used a single hook with two ropes in a \"princess carry\" technique to lift the object into place in one go. This also marks the completion of the final piece in the installation work for the urea section, with the focus of operations in the entire plant shifting towards commissioning and trial production. At present, the pipeline installation in this area has been largely completed; the purging of the pipelines is progressing steadily, while the wiring and tagging of instruments are being carried out intensively.
