Zhonghe Gasification Signs Contract with Jiangsu Heyou for Fixed-Bed Energy-Saving and Environmental-Protection Upgrade Project Author/Source: Zhongke Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. Date: 2021-04-16 Clicks: 9 Recently, Zhongke Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhonghe Gasification”) signed a contract with Jiangsu Heyou Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jiangsu Heyou”) for an environmental and energy-saving upgrade project related to fixed-bed clean coal gas production, aiming to upgrade the cooling and dust removal processes for raw coal gas. Jiangsu Heyou produces 150,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year. Previously, its gas generation unit used multiple batch fixed-bed gasifiers to produce raw gas, and the coal gas was cooled through direct water washing; this approach led to problems such as significant pollution of the washing water system and a large volume of coal sludge that needed to be disposed of. This project will employ dry dust removal and waste heat recovery technologies for the clean gasification of coal, replacing the outdated method of cooling coal gas with water. This approach not only addresses the environmental issues associated with pollutants such as tar, phenol, and water generated by conventional coal gas cooling and purification systems, thereby improving pollution control, but also reduces coal consumption by recovering the sensible heat from the gas, in line with **carbon emission reduction policies. In 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the **National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the \"Comprehensive Plan for Controlling Air Pollution from Industrial Furnaces.\" This plan explicitly states that in industries such as nitrogen fertilizer production, where fixed-bed batch gasification furnaces are used, efforts should be accelerated to switch from direct water cooling to indirect cooling for gas cooling. In response to this policy, Zhonghe Gasification has leveraged its many years of experience in the development, design, and operation of dry cooling and purification systems to innovatively create an indirect cooling technology suitable for the retrofitting of batch fixed-bed systems. By integrating the widely proven technologies of cyclone pre-dust removal, dry dust removal, and indirect cooling, it has developed an integrated process for gas dust removal and indirect cooling, which enables the recovery of gas dust while addressing the problem of high pollution levels in the water used for direct cooling cycles. This project represents a good example of the application of an integrated process for dust removal and purification, as well as indirect cooling in coal gasification. Once operational, it will significantly improve the overall environment of the factory site and help the enterprise overcome challenges related to meeting environmental regulations. As a **high-tech enterprise, Zhonghe Gasification will always focus on the market, ensure that technological innovation is aligned with the needs of industrial development, and address the practical challenges encountered in production.
