The gasification plant of Weihua Group completed the planned furnace switching operation. Author/Source: Weihua Group Date: 2021-10-28 Clicks: 17 To ensure the stable operation of the gasification unit under high load and for extended periods, the process of switching to furnace No. 4 while shutting down furnace No. 3 began at 8 a.m. on October 24. Since the 24th was a weekend, the maintenance workers and workshop technical staff gave up their rest time, worked overtime, and carried out their tasks diligently to ensure that the furnace switching operation was completed on time, with both quality and quantity meeting requirements. The process technicians first carried out valve verification before feeding the materials, after which the maintenance crew began to install maintenance blind plates. Subsequently, tasks such as shutting down the furnace, replacing the burners, starting up the slurry pump, and introducing oxygen were carried out. To ensure that the material feeding process is carried out safely, efficiently, and in an orderly manner, Wang Dongliang, the director of the gasification workshop, and Wang Zhiyong, the chief scheduler of the production department, went to the sixth floor of the gasification facility to provide technical guidance. At 12:20, with the start-up torch igniting, the temperature of Gasifier No. 4 first dropping before rising and no abnormal movements in the valve positions, it indicated that feeding to Gasifier No. 4 was successful; subsequent steps were pressure increase, water cut-off, and gas integration. At 13:25, the shutdown button was pressed for Vaporizer No. 3; process personnel carried out post-shutdown procedures, while maintenance staff installed shutdown blind flanges, followed by flushing and purging operations. At 19:01, the removal of the burner was completed, marking the official finish of the planned furnace switching operation in the gasification workshop. This furnace reversal operation was carefully planned by the process engineers, taking into account the current operational constraints and cycle times of the four gasification furnaces. The goal is to **increase the operating time of these furnaces**, while reducing the number of times external maintenance is required as well as the associated costs, thereby contributing to improved company profitability.
