Recently, at the 2021 National Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Development Forum for the Petroleum and Chemical Industry, as well as the ceremony for announcing the energy efficiency and water efficiency “leaders”, EnerChina was awarded the title of “2020 Water Efficiency Leader Benchmark Enterprise (coal-based ammonia synthesis)”. First, zero wastewater discharge technology was adopted from the very beginning of plant construction; after treatment, the wastewater is used as makeup water for the circulating water system and is fully recycled. Secondly, the mine water recycling project to be established in the future will not only address the problem of difficult wastewater disposal for nearby coal mining companies, but also enable the reuse of mine water; concentrated brine can be separated into its components, thereby reducing the amount of surface water used. Third, air-cooled equipment is used to replace water-cooled equipment, and the amount of fresh water is reduced by recovering excess steam from venting. The ammonia water consumption per unit of production remains stable at around 4.7 tons per ton, which is at the leading level in the industry.
