Recently, Plant 1 of Pingyuan Chemical Fertilizers finished cleaning the two regeneration tanks in its desulfurization system, thereby ensuring the safe and stable operation of the production facilities. Due to the delay in this year’s major maintenance, the desulfurization system at Fertilizer Plant No. 1 is under considerable production pressure. Based on past production patterns, the pressure difference in the desulfurization system increases more significantly during cold months. After numerous discussions and studies, as well as by learning from the experiences at Fertilizer Plant No. 2, Fertilizer Plant No. 1 decided to clean the regeneration tank, and a specific cleaning plan along with the steps for implementation were developed. To ensure that the cleaning tasks are completed promptly, a team of workers from the workshop was assigned to work in two shifts for the rinsing operations. Managers at all levels kept close watch over the work site; the Safety Department ensured that the necessary safety procedures were followed, while the Equipment Department provided the cleaning tools needed. The Technical Department was responsible for checking and verifying the quality of the cleaning work. After four days of continuous hard work, the cleaning of Reactor No. 1 and Reactor No. 2 was successfully completed. It is reported that after the regeneration tank was cleaned, the quality of the foam improved significantly, with its sulfur content rising from 10 g/l to 16 g/l ； The sulfur recovery rate increases by more than 10%, and the desulfurization pressure difference remains stable and favorable.
