Uniper signs renewable ammonia procurement agreement with AM Green

　　According to Sinochem New Network, on January 12, German company Uniper Global Commodities and Indian firm AM Green Ammonia Energy Private Limited announced the signing of a long-term, binding procurement agreement for certified renewable ammonia of non-biological origin, suitable for use as a fuel. This is the first time an Indian company has signed such an agreement, and the signing ceremony was held in Ahmedabad. 　　Under the agreement, Uniper will purchase up to 500,000 tons of products per year from AM Green’s green ammonia project. The first shipment is expected to be shipped by 2028, coming from AM Green’s first 1 million tons per year green ammonia plant under construction in Kakinaida, Andhra Pradesh. 　　For Uniper, this partnership represents an important step forward in its efforts to develop a diverse portfolio of renewable and low-carbon molecular products for European customers. Renewable ammonia can serve as both a raw material and a potential hydrogen carrier, helping to achieve decarbonization in industries such as chemicals, fertilizers, and oil refining; it could also be used in the shipping industry in the future. 　(Gu Jiarui)
