On January 30, 2026, at the site of the caprolactam Phase II plant, assessments were being conducted on the trial operation of the green transformation project. After the renovation, there was a significant reduction in cyclohexanone consumption, ammonia usage, steam consumption, recycled water usage, as well as electricity consumption. The product quality reached 100%, while both production volume and unit consumption saw improvements. After nearly half a year of trial operation, the green transformation project has not only significantly reduced the consumption of utilities such as steam and circulating water, but also optimized the workforce structure, laying a solid foundation for the company to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance its production and operational efficiency. According to a report by the Henan Daily app in September 2025, once the renovation is completed, Nylon Technology Company will be able to produce 400,000 tons of caprolactam per year. It will also enjoy significant advantages in terms of energy consumption and costs: steam consumption per ton of caprolactam produced will be reduced by 55%, recycled water usage will be cut by 35%, and electricity consumption will be reduced by 20%. The level of ketone consumption in this process is among the best in China. The green transformation of the second-phase caprolactam production line at Shenma Group’s Nylon Technology Company involves modifying the oximation process used in the existing A and C production lines of this second phase – specifically, changing from the homogeneous ammonia oximation-rearrangement technique to a heterogeneous ammonia oximation-rearrangement technique. After the modification, the ammonia oximation unit and the rearrangement unit in Phase 1 are currently out of use, as well as the reaction system of Production Line B in Phase 2. The main production units after the renovation are the upgraded production line Set C of Phase 2 (200,000 tons) and the upgraded production line Set A of Phase 2 (180,000 tons).
