According to Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group, by 2025, the company’s ammonia and urea production units will operate continuously for 326 days, while the acetylene and PTMEG production units will operate continuously for as long as 390 days. Throughout the year, over 380,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and over 640,000 tons of urea were produced. The comprehensive energy consumption per unit of these products decreased significantly, which helped to counteract the downward pressures in the market. By 2025, the diphenyl carbonate slurry project will be put into operation successfully, producing high-quality products with a purity of 99.9%, marking a new step forward in the expansion of the industrial chain. The intelligent urea packaging system, PC products and raw material warehouses, as well as the intelligent access control system have been put into use, thereby upgrading the construction of the intelligent factory. The renovation of Boiler No. 3 and the desulfurization tower has been completed; the reclaimed water reuse project is progressing steadily, and the emphasis on green development is becoming increasingly evident. In February 2026, key projects such as a 35,000-ton polyphenylene oxide production facility, a long-chain α-olefin industry chain, and initiatives aimed at energy conservation and emission reduction were successfully approved with an investment of 800 million yuan by the group; currently, these projects are advancing in an orderly manner. The key core equipment for the pilot project on producing energy chemicals via thousand-ton-scale Fischer-Tropsch synthesis has been installed, with trial production scheduled for the end of March, as the drive generated by innovation continues to take effect. Sichuan Tianhua Company has the capacity to produce 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 520,000 tons of urea, 60,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol, and 46,000 tons of polytetrahydrofuran. Ammonia synthesis uses natural gas as raw material, employing the deep cryogenic purification process developed by Brown & Root in the United States to produce 300,000 tons of ammonia per year, as well as the Snam ammonia stripping process from Italy to produce 520,000 tons of urea per year. It was built and put into operation in 1995.
