As of April 2026, at the construction site of Shaanxi Qingshui Yinquan Coal Industry Development Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 600,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia, 1 million tons per year of urea-based compound fertilizers, as well as to expand the melamine production chain in an environmentally friendly manner, steel arms of cranes and construction vehicles were in constant movement. Sparks from welding operations mixed with the rumbling sound of machinery, as workers took advantage of the prime construction season in spring to accelerate the building process. To date, more than 10 pieces of equipment, including gasifiers, ammonia synthesis towers, shift gas washing towers, and various other units, have been lifted into place. The completion rates for the auxiliary facilities and the overall structure of the chemical plant are approximately 50% and 30%, respectively. The project has entered a critical phase of acceleration for civil works and installation. The company’s target is to complete the civil engineering work by August and the mechanical work by the end of the year. The melamine and related products production project at Qingshui Yinquan in Shaanxi Province uses coal as raw material, and employs the Jinhua furnace coal slurry gasification technology to produce raw gas. Impurities are removed through shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, and liquid nitrogen washing, after which the H/N ratio is adjusted to 3:1 to produce synthetic ammonia. Some of this ammonia is sent to a urea production unit to manufacture urea (using the ammonia stripping process), while another portion is used in a triamine production unit to produce melamine; still another part of the ammonia is used to create urea-based compound fertilizers. Utilize the CO2 generated by low-temperature methanol washing, together with the salt residues (NaCl) produced from the industrial wastewater treatment in surrounding parks, to produce green products such as baking soda and ammonium chloride; meanwhile, the excess ammonia from ammonia synthesis and the gas produced by gasification are used to manufacture methamine and dimethylformamide (DMF).
