What are the appropriate lengths for the straight sections before and after the flow meter? Is it the top five and bottom ten? Still in the top ten or top five?
It depends on what type of flow meter it is. The best source of information is the data provided by the manufacturer; adding a rectifier plate can be helpful.
Generally, it’s the top 10 and the bottom 5; if it’s two-way, it’s the top 10 and the bottom 10. A rectifier is usually added at the 10 position.
