Dear everyone, regarding the basic requirements for safety control in chemically intensive processes that require close monitoring, should such interlocks be implemented within the DCS system for general control, or within the SIS system?
Analyze it: those that need to be integrated into SIS should be done so, while those that don’t require it can be controlled via DCS

The interlock control within the framework mentioned above is basic interlock control; if a DCS is required, it is similar to the mandatory requirements. For the SIS system, an HOZIP analysis must be conducted first before deciding whether supplementary measures equivalent to those of a DCS are needed. My personal understanding.

The first list of key processes was published in 2008, while the State Administration of Work Safety issued requirements regarding safety instrumented systems in Document No. 116 from 2014; the chronological order makes this clear
Interlocking needs to be implemented in a DCS system with general control. It should be possible to tell by looking at the LOPA protection layer analysis.
To conduct a LOPA analysis and determine the SIL level, choose between SIS and DCS based on that SIL level
