For the construction of new projects, the design institute recommended that the \"general location of the sewage treatment plant\" be placed on the upwind side of the wind direction with the lowest frequency throughout the year in that area. This is a bit confusing: although there are environmental protection measures in place, sewage treatment plants still have a significant impact on the surrounding environment; so why is it located on the upwind side?
Relevant provisions are outlined in 3.0.7 of the Code for General Layout Design of Industrial Enterprises (GB 50187-2012). Devices that emit harmful substances of this type are installed on the upwind side of the wind direction with the lowest frequency throughout the year in residential areas. I remember a similar description in another standard, but it stated that it should be located on the downwind side of the wind direction with the highest frequency throughout the year. Both should work.
