Generally, distribution rooms are installed for the entire plant, for a specific area, or for a particular set of equipment. However, the spacing requirements specified in Tables 4.2.12 and 5.2.1 of the petrochemical industry standards do not apply to the layout of distribution rooms in Category C or D categories. Therefore, are the characteristics of Category C and D distribution rooms only applicable when such rooms are located next to workshops in Category D or E? After all, the spacing requirements for such locations are determined according to the petrochemical industry standards.
What’s mentioned here isn’t comprehensive; in cases where the distribution room is not a more important facility than those throughout the entire plant or in a particular area, shouldn’t the distance requirements between Class A, B, and C facilities and the distribution room be determined simply in accordance with the building codes?
Yes, typically Class D and E workshops are equipped with Class C and D power distribution rooms, as Class A, B, and C workshops require spacing arrangements in accordance with stricter petrochemical standards. When designing the overall layout, the placement of the power distribution room does indeed require consideration of the types of workshops surrounding it as well as the corresponding safety distance requirements. .
