Recently, Tianjin Changlu Haijing Group’s subsidiary, Tianjin Changlu Salt Chemical Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Haijing Technology), announced that it has won the bid for the Bugu Masai potash mine project in the Republic of the Congo. It is reported that the Masisi potash mine project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is the largest potash mine project in Africa. This project, which involves the procurement of a complete set of equipment for a bromine distillation system, further demonstrates China’s comprehensive strength in the field of bromine. Among them, the first-phase bromine extraction plant had its engineering design carried out by Haijing Technology; it is currently the bromine production facility with the largest capacity in the world. At the beginning of designing the project in 2023, Haijing Technology faced a unique challenge: the raw material for the project was a mother liquor resulting from the decomposition of potash minerals, and due to its high calcium ion content, it could not be processed using traditional acid-based methods for bromine extraction. In the face of this challenge, the project team independently developed a new integrated process of \"alkaline method for bromine extraction + alkaline method for sodium bromide extraction\", which can effectively alleviate the shortage of bromine raw materials in China and enhance the autonomy and control over the industry’s supply chain. Over the years, Haijing Technology Company has consistently focused on international market demands. Thanks to its strong design capabilities and high-quality service, it has managed to stand out in the fierce international competition, becoming an active participant in the Belt and Road Initiative. In 2022, the company took on its first overseas bromine production project: the 15,000 tons per year bromine production facility at Yapok International in Laos. By developing its own bromine extraction process using the caustic soda method, tailored to the characteristics of the local brine, it achieved successful commissioning on the first attempt, thus taking the first step toward expanding its operations overseas. At the beginning of 2025, the company took on another project to expand the bromine production capacity at Asia Potash International in Laos by 25,000 tons per year, continuing to make steady progress in its international expansion.
