Tendering has begun for Deep Energy Otogek Phase II project for hydrogen production via water electrolysis to produce SAF! On March 27, a tender was issued for the preparation of a feasibility study report on the production of SAF through water electrolysis as part of the second phase of Shenneng Northern Energy Holding Co., Ltd.’s integrated wind power and hydrogen production green application project in Eket Banner. The 505MW wind-solar hydrogen production integrated green ammonia project (Phase I) in Etoke Banner was successfully selected as one of the first hydrogen energy pilot projects in the energy sector in October 2025, with full operation planned for August 2026. In February 2026, Shenneng Northern Energy Holding Co., Ltd. signed a framework agreement on investment cooperation with the People’s Government of Ejin Horo Banner; the two parties will deepen their collaboration in key areas such as the integration of wind power and hydrogen production. The second-phase project plans to develop wind power generation facilities and related supporting infrastructure, as well as water electrolysis hydrogen production plants. Using green hydrogen as a raw material, it will expand into downstream applications by investing in the production of green ammonia, green alcohols, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and other similar products. ShenNeng Eket Wind-Solar Hydrogen Production and Integrated Green Ammonia Production Project (Phase I), with a hydrogen production capacity of 48,000 Nm³/h ； The hydrogen storage section is equipped with 12 1875 m³ spherical tanks ； The supporting power sources include a 500 MW wind power project and a 5 MW off-grid photovoltaic hydrogen production project. The downstream chemical facility is a synthetic ammonia plant with an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons. Additionally, there is a 30 MW-class pure hydrogen gas turbine installed for hydrogen energy storage. This project is under the EPC general contracting of China National Chemical Donghua Company. The green ammonia synthesis is carried out using the Nanjing Guochang process, while the electrolyzers are supplied by leading manufacturers such as Perai, Yangguang, Sany, and CRRC. Jingmen Hongtu is the supplier of hydrogen storage tanks. It represents the world’s first 30MW-class hydrogen storage demonstration project for pure hydrogen gas turbines, developed through a collaboration between MingYang Hydrogen Fuel and Shenzhen Energy.
