The first two points state that what is discharged through the vent valve should be the lightest non-condensable components at the top of the tank, in order to avoid the discharge of heavier components. 2、It is sealed with nitrogen because the exhalation valve is located at the top; if there is exhalation, there may be inhalation, and what is inhaled will definitely be air. Introducing nitrogen and moving it away from the breathing valve serves to disperse the air that has entered the storage tank more effectively, allowing nitrogen to fill as much of the gas space at the top of the tank as possible, which helps to reduce the concentration of air in the oil and gas.
I can only imagine this, and I think it’s like this: the density of nitrogen is slightly lower than that of air; we have tested this through experiments, and it turns out that nitrogen protection is not as effective as argon protection. I think the main purpose is to save nitrogen. If the pipe opening isn’t 200 mm deep, a large portion of the nitrogen will diffuse to the bottom of the breather valve and be discharged there. By having it 200 mm deep, under the effect of air pressure, the nitrogen will spread as far downward as possible; thus, more than 90% of the volume above that depth will be air. As the pressure of the nitrogen seal increases, the air above it is gradually expelled. Subsequently, nitrogen-rich air will be discharged, and the nitrogen sealing process is completed once the oxygen content is reduced to a certain level.
