Installed on the coolant ethylene glycol, outside the tube. The previous ultrasonic devices tended to break easily, and icing occurred outside the pipes; it never was fixed. Is there something more suitable? It does not affect the system.

Yes! I agree with the second floor’s suggestion; however, considering using sensors at a distance of 1 meter and having a separate host unit would be a good idea, as this way it won’t be affected by freezing.
Ultrasonic flowmeters do not come into contact with the material, so they generally should not get damaged. Ultrasonic flowmeters are powered by electricity, so they tend to break down; could it be due to freezing at low temperatures that causes a short circuit? In that case, proper protection can be implemented to ensure no electricity leakage occurs.
