What is the standard used for classifying electrical explosion-proof hazard areas?

As shown in the figure, CLASS I ZONE 2 GROUP ⅡA is a classification for electrical explosion-hazard areas. I would like to know what standards and regulations are used for this classification?

May I ask how the hydrogen gas produced by the reaction is handled when released into the upper atmosphere?
This is a bit of a mix. According to IEC standards, zone 2, group IIA would be sufficient; whereas according to NEC standards, it would be class I, division II, Group D
