2017 Work Summary: Technical Technician in a Private Enterprise Workshop. As the end of the year approaches, another year is coming to an end. As a technician in the XX (product name) department, looking back on the work I’ve done, I have mixed feelings – there is joy from achieving successes, as well as anxiety caused by uncertainties; there is satisfaction, but also frustration. Most of all, I have hope, hoping for a better new year! I. Summary of Work for 2017: 2017 was a year in which the production processes for XX (product name) were continuously optimized, resulting in increased output and sales. In the first half of 2017, several major renovation projects were carried out. The thorough preparations made during that period enabled us to achieve full-scale production since the trial production phase began. From August to October, it was possible to produce 1,000 tons of XX (product name) per month, while in November and December, a production volume of 2,500 tons of XX (product name) per month could be achieved. While ensuring safe production, optimize the operations of automated procedures and improve safety interlocks to achieve intrinsic safety. (1) Major renovation: In March 2017, in order to enable batch processing within a single dehydration tank, the 20m3 dehydration tank was replaced with a 27m3 one. This measure ensured that no material remained trapped within a single tank per batch, and it also **reduced the time required to produce products, thereby laying a solid foundation for increasing production volumes in the future. This renovation really allowed me to experience what true efficiency is like. The renovation, which was originally planned to take 20 days, was completed in just 2 weeks – during which time tasks such as the removal of equipment and pipelines, as well as their installation, pressure testing, and cleaning, were all finished. In June, a modification was made to the falling film system in order to reduce the toluene content in the product. Upon completion of the renovation, an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of XX (product name) wax powder can be ensured, with a toluene content of around 1,000 ppm. The quality of this product fully meets the domestic market demands. In July, the issue of open discharge of working fluid from vacuum packages was resolved; instead of discharging the waste fluid into temporary tanks, toluene is now recovered through separation of liquids, with a sealed system being used for the recovery of toluene under vacuum conditions. This renovation not only reduces toluene evaporation but also simplifies the complicated procedures, thereby reducing the margin for operational errors. In October, the steel belts of 4 belt granulators were replaced, as well as the distributor of Unit #1, to meet the current annual production requirement of 30,000 tons of granules. (II) Further improvement and optimization of automated processes: Firstly, the dehydration process has been changed from one step of dehydration to one step of dehydration followed by one step of toluene removal, thereby reducing the workload associated with subsequent toluene removal steps and meeting the requirements regarding the toluene content in the products manufactured currently. Subsequently, as the product quality continued to improve, the programmed actions related to extraction were optimized and upgraded, so as to save time to the greatest extent possible without compromising product quality; for a company, time is money. (III) Prepare proper plans for raw materials and spare parts in the workshop, coordinate the maintenance of workshop equipment, and ensure that all necessary preparations are in place for safe and stable production. (IV) Assist its Safety and Environment Department in completing the inspections related to workshop safety, environmental protection, and occupational health. Complete the rectification work related to environmental protection and occupational health requirements in the workshop, prepare the necessary documentation for the inspection, and ensure thorough preparation for it. (5) Conduct thorough inventory analysis for monthly production plans; data analysis provides essential information for further efforts to save energy and reduce consumption. To ensure stable production operations, it is crucial to focus on energy conservation and consumption reduction in order to enhance the company’s competitiveness in this industry. II. Existing problems and gaps in work and personal performance (1) The analysis of abnormal issues during production is not comprehensive enough, and it is not possible to thoroughly verify each possible cause. During the toluene removal process, an issue of excessive water content in the recovered toluene arose. The possibility of a leak in the evaporators, which are pressure-bearing equipment, was considered first; steam supply to the 3 evaporators was stopped for testing, but the situation did not improve. Instead of checking for leaks in the condensers, those 3 evaporators were tested again and again. At that time, my thinking was limited, as I assumed it was unlikely that the coolers would leak. It took the workshop two days to truly identify the cause. In the analysis of the abnormal situation, assumptions were made, and it was not possible to verify each possible cause one by one, which resulted in a great deal of time being wasted. (II) Lacks sufficient caution in handling tasks. There is a tendency to settle for something that is merely ‘good enough’ when doing things; one can’t be thorough at each step. In a project, things are treated as ‘good enough’ here and there, and when problems arise, it becomes difficult to identify the cause among all these instances of ‘good enough’, leading to repeated work. III. Personal work plan and improvement measures for 2018: After 1.5 years of producing XX (product name), the production volume of this product has now met the requirement of 30,000 tons per year. Key tasks for 2018: ① Resolve the clogging issue in the falling film system coolers to ensure that the toluene content meets the requirements for full-load production; ② Address the vacuum problems in the steam jet vacuum system, and further investigate the toluene removal capacity of the steam jet film-scraping system; ③ Solve the capacity issues related to the feeders of the other three granulators; ④ Complete the commissioning and operation of the automatic bagging packaging system. IV. Overall evaluation: The work was carried out with a clear approach, allowing for effective planning of key tasks, and the tasks were completed efficiently and on time within the specified timeframe. Lacks a broader perspective on matters and is unable to consider things from a long-term standpoint. One should adopt the right attitude towards problems: first, work diligently and maintain a broad mind. Don’t get fixated on trivial matters or hold grudges over them. It’s important to understand that many problems, when they arise, indeed leave one at a loss and feel quite difficult to deal with; one might even think it’s impossible to get through them. Once this problem is solved, you will feel relieved, experiencing a sense of ease and joy. In fact, there is no problem that cannot be solved; it depends on how broad your thinking is and how much patience you have ; Second, one must have a long-term perspective. Don’t always focus only on what’s right in front of you. Before doing something, do not consider your own interests first; instead, learn to put yourself within the context of the whole. Because one is part of the whole; if the interests of the whole are satisfied, individual interests can also be satisfied.
