What is the purpose of installing 8-shaped blind flanges at the inlet and outlet points on the circulation pipes of vertical thermal siphon reboilers? Which of the following does it belong to? It’s hard to say; it could barely be considered 2.0.1.4. When devices need regular maintenance, inspection, or to be switched back and forth, and when the equipment involved must be completely isolated, blind plates are installed at the shut-off valves. But there are no valves.

Is this blind flange needed? In manuals such as the \"Chemical Process Design Handbook,\" valves and blind flanges are not mentioned, but they are included in the \"Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Design Handbook.\"
Is it for isolation during maintenance, as mentioned above?
