As the title suggests, in a hydrogen peroxide processing plant, can the associated tank area be used to arrange the hydrogen peroxide storage tanks alongside the heavy aromatic hydrocarbons storage tanks and the working fluid storage tanks within the same tank group? According to 6.2.10 of GB51283-2020 \"Fire Protection Design Code for Fine Chemical Enterprise Engineering\", different types of products are stored within the tank farm. . . Dikes should be installed at the following locations. . . :4,. . . Strong oxidizer. . . I’d like to ask experts working with flammable liquid storage tanks: is this really acceptable?

Dikes should be installed at the following locations. This rule means that for tanks that can be placed together, dikes should be set up; however, in your case, strong oxidizing agents and flammable or explosive tanks are being placed together, which is not allowed. Therefore, rule 6.2.10 does not apply to your situation

This shouldn’t be the dike that’s visible; a partition wall should be installed instead

Personally, I think a tank bank should not be installed at all, but since the design institute – which is of Class A status – designed it this way, it’s necessary to discuss further whether the fine chemical industry standards served as a basis for this design. Thank you for the feedback.

The design firm wouldn’t deliberately design it in this way; the more money the client spends, the more the firm earns, or else a fixed price has already been agreed upon. The design institute will not take the initiative to save the owner money, unless the owner insists on it
