Hello everyone, there is a question I would like to discuss with you. The outlet pipelines of the two safety valves in our plant are combined, and then a main pipe is led out; however, the outlet pipelines of the two safety valves are connected vertically (similar to a tee). This format seems a bit awkward, but there is no legal basis to oppose such a design. Do anyone have any good suggestions?
Check whether there are relevant requirements in the design specifications for industrial metal pipes.
I know the standard, but I haven’t seen anything related to it.
HG 50570.2-1995 Installation and Selection of Safety Valves 13 Design of the outlet pipeline for safety valves 13.0.3 Discharge to a closed system 13.0.3.1 The discharge pipeline of the safety valve should slope toward the main pipe, with bag-shaped bends being avoided as much as possible. When it cannot be avoided, an easily accessible drain valve should be installed at the lowest point. For easily condensable gases, steam tracing pipes are installed at the low points to prevent liquid accumulation. 13.0.3.2 The connection between the exhaust pipe and the main pipe shall be made by inserting it at a 45º angle along the flow direction from above or beside the main pipe. It prevents condensate in the main pipe from flowing into the branch pipes, while also reducing pressure loss in the piping system.
It’s better to connect it at 45 degrees to the main pipe.
