Since the temperature difference of the heat source for this heat exchanger is small (reducing from 120°C to around 100°C, i.e., less than 100°C), can this heat exchanger only utilize the sensible heat of steam and not its latent heat? ?
Is the heat source saturated steam at 120°C (10 KPaG), to be reduced to 100°C? Weren’t both latent heat and sensible heat used? Sensible heat is the sensible heat of water. If there is a negative pressure across the heat exchanger, it is sensible heat (the sensible heat of steam).
I think the original poster has been asking these questions for so many years without making any progress. When you ask a question, please check whether you have described it clearly enough What are the fluids on the cold side and the hot side of the heat exchanger? You’re not even mentioning temperature or pressure – what’s the point of asking this question?
