According to current standards and practices, a constant flow of water is provided in a bypass line, along with a flow-limiting orifice plate. On the main pipeline, the opening and closing of valves are controlled based on the liquid level.

A cost-saving approach is to use a U-shaped bend, which allows for overflow. If an overflow condition is designed, it is recommended to keep the small valve in the overflow position; this is how it is controlled as well. 3. Is heating incorporated into the water supply pipeline? If not, extra care is needed in winter – open the valves wider; otherwise, freezing and blockages can occur, which would be troublesome.
If the water level in the water seal tank is too high, it may prevent the flare gas from being discharged in a timely manner, resulting in pressure buildup upstream. Generally, a relief valve is installed to ensure that the level does not exceed a certain threshold, in accordance with the set liquid level. Furthermore, failing to replace the water over a long period of time can lead to an accumulation of oil residues inside the tank, which may cause blockages in the inlet and outlet pipes.
