The company produces barium carbonate; sulfur is produced via the Claus process using carbon containing H2S, but the nitrogen oxide emissions in the exhaust gases are above the allowed levels. Hydrogen sulfide is used as fuel – does anyone know what could be causing these excessive emissions? Or are there any process improvements that can be made to reduce nitrogen oxides?
N2 in the air reacts with oxygen at high temperatures to produce NOx. A low-nitrogen combustion process can be chosen, or an NOx treatment device can be installed at the end. It depends on your NOx concentration. Feel free to contact me if you need anything. :lol

It’s likely that the combustion temperature wasn’t controlled properly, resulting in too high a temperature.
Combustion requires air, and nitrogen oxides are produced as a result. It needs to be clarified whether the issue lies in excessive emissions or an excess of the total amount emitted.
