Can such projects be sustainable in the long term? Where does the straw come from? With subsidies available now, will it shut down if there are no more subsidies?
We have worked on projects involving turning hay into charcoal and producing syngas. I can tell you right away that with energy prices this low, without any subsidies, your revenue will immediately turn negative. And it also depends on the size of the subsidy. If oil prices exceed $150 per barrel, subsidies are probably not needed.
