Hello, experts. I’m new to ethylene plants, and I would like to ask what it means when a cracking furnace stops operating and experiences charring Thank you so much! ! !
Too much coking in the furnace tubes interferes with normal operation. According to certain procedures, air is introduced to cause the coke to burn in oxygen, thereby achieving the purpose of removing coke.
Can it burn just by introducing air into the furnace tube? Is high temperature or an open flame needed for combustion?
Air at a certain temperature is needed. Hasn’t the catalyst burned out from that? More or less
Calling it \"shutdown burning\" doesn’t seem quite accurate; it’s more understandable to refer to it as \"material withdrawal burning.\" Fuel gas similar to that used in normal operating conditions must be burned inside the furnace, with the COT kept between 800–890°C during this process.
