I have a question for the experts here: regarding the fire hazard classification in building codes, when the gas explosion limit is greater than 10%, it is classified as Category B. Does this refer to the operating condition or the standard condition? For example, in the case of a distillation tower for Class C liquids, if the explosive limit of the gas inside the tower is greater than 10%, should such equipment be classified as Class B or Class C? Do the electrical equipment in the factory building need to be explosion-proof?
It should be based on standard conditions. This tower should be classified as Category C ； For boilers that use natural gas, RTOs are classified as Class D equipment. However, there are some differences in the relevant fire-resistant and explosion-proof protection requirements. Thank you!
