Will hydrogen chloride evaporate from hydrochloric acid storage tanks? I don’t know much about this industry either; could experts please provide some information?
It doesn’t seem to be a mandatory requirement; it depends on the owner’s needs for the arrangement
Hydrochloric acid generally releases hydrogen chloride vapor, so an acid mist absorption tank or a water seal tank can be installed in the hydrochloric acid tank to prevent the leakage of acid mist. If large-scale leaks in the tank area are a possibility, detection alarms can be installed.
I’m not in the environmental protection field, but I have done similar work before. The installation of detectors has to be carried out within certain limits – for example, the distance between the equipment and the detectors should be X meters… And for safety reasons, it’s best to have detectors in all directions around the equipment, as you never know from which direction the wind will blow. PS. I’m in Taiwan; I’m not sure if there are any relevant laws or regulations in mainland China. As for hydrochloric acid storage tanks, they are generally installed inside liquid containment barriers (hydrochloric acid has a high density, so in the event of a leak, it will accumulate in certain areas).
